As part of our North East topic, we have been studying the local legend of the Lambton Worm.
We have been reading an interactive story online which retells the events of story using expressive narration and moving images. In order to become more familiar with the story before starting our writing later in the week, we got into small groups to create mini-plays for each section of the tale.
To start with, we decided on who in our group would play each part and began to create dialogue and stage directions to help us when performing.
We then practised our section together, stopping at short intervals to edit and improve our scripts.
When we were confident that we had created a drama that represented our section of the story well enough, we performed them to the rest of the class. After each performance, every group received positive feedback from the class as well as some areas that they could improve on next time.
