In year 3 this week, we have been creating our own shape poems. We started the process by listing descriptive words and phrases linked to the outline we were given. We needed to include: ambitious adjectives, alliteration, adverbs and a simile. These were some of the features we had discovered when analysing shape poems.
We then selected the best examples from our list and tried to arrange them in and around our outlines. We used whiteboards to help us to edit and improve our drafts.
Finally, we used a checklist and feedback to create a final version of our poems for our literacy books.
