We celebrated Chinese New Year this week. The children loved the opportunity to taste some different Chinese foods and enjoyed cooking them together. It was great fun learning how to use chop sticks!
In lessons we looked at the story of the animals and why each year is named after a different animal; this year is the year of the Monkey. The children asked if they could find out some information about different Monkeys so lots of children made fact files all about them. We learned some amazing facts, for example, did you know there are 264 species of Monkeys!?
When we weren’t using our independent research skills we tried our hands at some Chinese writing and made Happy New Year signs using paint.
