Harvest October 2015

We were delighted to be able to welcome Reverend Tracey into school recently to join our Harvest Service.  Reverend Tracey helps to organise Blyth Foodbank, an organisation designed to support families in times of financial need.  The children were fascinated to hear about the work of this charity, the items that are typically included in a food parcel and the destination for all their Harvest contributions.  Our work from KS1 and KS2 along with our Harvest songs, hymns and poetry ensured this was a particularly meaningful service for all our staff and pupils.

Hollyoak House

Following our Harvest Service, our school choir visited the senior citizens residents at Hollyoak House to sing a selection of Harvest songs and some that they performed at The Sage Concert Hall in July 2015.  The opportunity to bring two different generations together is really important and it was clear to see the pleasure this visit brought to both groups.
