Important Notice

General Election

As you know, Newsham Primary School is always used as a polling station for elections. Usually, we can use our conference room for this purpose, separate the public from our pupils and keep our school open whilst ensuring all safeguarding procedures are in place.

The election on December 12th is a general election and the conference room will not be large enough to accommodate the additional voting booths or the expected increase in the number of voters coming onto the premises. Our school hall will therefore be used as the polling station and school will be have to be closed to pupils on December 12th.

This is an exceptional circumstance and I know you will appreciate early notification of this closure.

We believe that good communication between school, home and the community is a key strength of our school. At Newsham we communicate with stakeholders in various ways including weekly newsletters.

You can receive your weekly newsletter by email if you prefer, please let Mrs Johnson (admin) have your email address if you require this service.

We greatly value your comments, ideas and concerns and aim to take relevant action following discussions with parents/carers about all aspects of school life. Parents/Carers are invited along to school events such as parents’ evenings, special assemblies, performances, coffee mornings and sports days.
